Ms. Deanne Pence is recognized by the International Academy of Science for her contributions to Acellus® courses in the Life Science course. With over a decade of experience teaching middle-school science in public schools, Ms. Pence has taught in East Alton District 13 in Illinois and in Independence School District 30 in Missouri. She has also taught at Sylvan Learning Center. In addition, Ms. Pence has tutored privately for all ages and has served as a camp counselor in science and nature conservation for The Nature Institute. Ms. Pence received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from the School of Science at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville. She currently serves as a member of the science curriculum design team for her district. Her extracurricular activities include coaching track, volleyball, and girl's basketball.
