Acellus STEM Camp
Acellus STEM Certification and Training
In preparation for deployment of the Acellus STEM Robotics Lab, we encourage school personnel to attend the special STEM Training Camp.
This two-day event is specially targeting Special Ed teachers and administrators wishing to become certified as Acellus STEM teachers. The Acellus SE STEM program was developed with the realization that many SE teachers do not have the technical backgrounds needed to run a STEM lab. The purpose of this special training event is to prepare these teachers to successfully run and operate an Acellus STEM lab program in their schools.
During the first day of the training, the participants will get an overview training on setting up and operating an Acellus-based learning program. The second day is exclusively devoted to STEM training.
Attendees should have a background in Science Education wiht some experience or at least strong interest in coding and robotics. The courseware has been designed so that limited STEM training is needed to run the program, but STEM Camp is a must.
Certification
Attendees who demonstrate proficiency in setting up and configuring Acellus deployments and in running an Acellus STEM Lab will receive the Certified Acellus STEM Teacher designation from the International Academy of Science.
This certification indicates educators who are prepared to help maintain a school or district implementation of the Acellus STEM Lab and to assist teachers with Acellus STEM Lab setup and management.
Continuing Education
Attendees completing the training will receive 1.5 CEU (Continuing Education Units) under the International Academy of Science Professional Development program for educators. These credits are generally accepted.
Some districts require prior approval for re-certification and/or salary advancement. Attendees are responsible for obtaining any required pre-approvals from their district.
