Course Overview
The Acellus High School Social & Emotional Health 2 course, taught by Dr. Pajet Monet, is the second level in the high school pathway focused on social development and emotional well being. This course is designed to take students to the next level of dealing with both social and emotional challenges. This course presents students with real-life scenarios, and allows them to determine how to make the choices needed in gaining positive outcomes. Students will learn about healthy lifestyles, positivity, and the impact that they can personally make on bettering their world.

Scope and Sequence
Unit 1 Students begin by learning how to face negativity with a positive attitude. They discuss the impact that mean teasing and cliques have on the people around them. They study their responsibility in making their world a better place by the choices they make. Unit 2 In this unit, students will learn the meaning of the word 'Socional'. They will learn the importance of having empathy and also accepting love and help from others. They will study how backbiting and resentment can affect relationships. Students will also learn the benefits of eating healthy foods. Unit 3 We begin this unit by recognizing the ability everyone has to be beautiful. Students will then focus on how to respond to criticism and how to release negative thoughts. They will also be able to learn about creating their own brand, importance of love, and a caring attitude. Unit 4 In this unit, students will learn the importance of respecting the law and they will be able to recall the affect that attitude and attire can have on a person. The focus is then shifted to dealing with negativity in the news and world around them. The unit ends with a lesson on fears. Unit 5 Next, students will learn about grudges and not hashing it out. They will learn the importance of being responsible and careful with social media platforms. Students will evaluate the importance of having respect and tolerance for the people around them. They will learn why it is important to have the ability to let go and be fun. Unit 6 This unit starts out by focusing on how to deal with hard moments. Students will evaluate why music matters and how it impacts one's life. They will be able to recall why it is important to take time to slow it down and also focus on their own triggers and gears. Unit 7 Students will review how their conversation reflects on them and how to respond when they have made a mistake. They will then shift gears and focus on how we are connected, through the moon, to every other person on this planet. They will learn why it is important to be present and how to respond when they have been knocked out of the saddle. Students will learn the implications that sarcasm can have on their life and how to react. They will also learn about the power of needing someone, being dependable and then how to respond to temptations in life. Unit 8 In this unit, students will focus on gratitude and the impact that it can make. They will learn how to not get overwhelmed and review the importance of toleration and the effect that animosity can have on people. They will learn how to stay strong emotionally and to mentally condition themselves. Students will then learn on how anger can close our ears. Unit 9 Students begin this unit by learning to take pride in their careers. They will learn how every friend is precious and how to respond when they have made a mistake. Students will be able to compare veggies and vegetables, recall the effect of energy drinks and learn about tongue ticklers and nutrition. They will then learn how the world feels when you are focused on yourself. Unit 10 This unit starts with a lesson on self-pity. Students will then be able to recall how they are in command of their own choices and emotions. They will learn about motivations and how they can express their brand. Students will be taught how to know if they have a healthy body and how thoughts and emotions impact eating habits. They will also learn the secret of portions. Unit 11 In this unit, students will remember that they are the ones who have the wheel, and are in control of their lives. They will learn how to hold on and learn the importance of never accepting excuses. They will then focus on moderation and learn about exercise. Students will learn wisdom from Socrates. Unit 12 Now, students will shift their focus to how they can make a difference in the world and see on an elevated plane. They will study their mood and learn the secret to being healthy. They will hear from P3, and then focus on diet. Unit 13 This unit begins by focusing on the importance of relaxing and releasing. They will learn about integrity and the benefits of enjoying each other. Students will then learn about self-confidence and holding grudges. They will learn about success, happiness, and judging others. They will also learn about sneaking and it's impact. Unit 14 Students will learn how to listen and also hear more from P3. They will be able to review the importance of refueling and recall that too much is too much. The students will then be reminded that anything is possible and learn about being organized. They will then be taught about justification. Unit 15 Next, students will learn about bosting and recall how anger is an enemy. They will study how gratitude can impact change and learn to be careful with what they say. The students will then review how the food they eat determines how they feel, and will recall the importance of being gracious when they win. Unit 16 This unit starts out by focusing on how you carry yourself. Students will be able to learn about tattletales and the opposite of down. They will study defining moments and learn how to be socionally balanced. Students will then focus on practicing kindness and learn why they need to recharge. They will then be able to recall how everyone has a story and learn how everything is or nothing is. Unit 17 The students will now learn about being fierce. They will also learn the importance of discipline and patience. They will discover how to be grounded and focus on what makes people smile. Students will then review how to maintain composure, and remember that they are not alone. They will learn to care about their world and pick up trash. They will also learn about the heart, and the impact of positive thinking. Unit 18 Finally, the students will learn about living and enjoying life. They will focus on not saying negative things and learn how food can affect the way they feel. Following this unit students are presented with the Final Review and Exam.
