The Voice over IP market is expected to exceed $30 billion dollars this year with rapid growth expected. Though the technology has greatly matured in recent years, organizations must proceed with care to avoid the quality problems that plague many implementations.

Latency

When a packet is sent across a network, it takes a certain amount of time to pass through each switch or router in the path. When the aggregate of this time becomes too great, the call quality deteriorates and the sound becomes choppy or is lost altogether. Many users have learned by experience that not all network equipment is created equal and that the design of the network can greatly affect voice traffic even though the bandwidth utilization is relatively low.

Quality of Service (QoS)

Adding voice and other streaming media to client/server networks can be problematic due to the spikes in bandwidth utilization caused by file transfers. When implemented correctly, enterprise-class QoS features in network management can greatly reduce these issues by prioritizing the traffic sent over network links.

Power-over-Ethernet (PoE)

Deploying feature-rich phones throughout the network is easier with PoE implemented to carry the phone power over its Ethernet cable. But care must be taken to not mix incompatible equipment in order to avoid possible damage to expensive gear.

These and other crucial points will be covered to help attendees become proficient in implementing VoIP technologies.

WideBand VoIP Certification Training

At this training, we will teach you how to

  • Build reliable WideBand VoIP networks with interconnection to other offices and to PSTN
  • Configure and customize WideBand Digital Phones and WideBand Digital PBXs
  • Integrate existing phones into WideBand VoIP
  • Use important codecs and protocols, including SIP
  • Manage WideBand network equipment and avoid common pitfalls on implementation
  • Optimize voice quality

The training will also provide hands-on experience on how to take advantage of many features including:

  • Call Forwarding
  • Automated Attendant
  • Email Voice Mail
  • Call Parking
  • Music on Hold

Individuals completing this training and successfully passing the required exam will receive certification.
